Objectives: As a Oracle Developer you will work closely with project teams to deliver code releases to required timescales. The role requires a high sense of ownership, and a focus on managing and resolving requests. you must be adaptable and willing to offer support in a variety of projects.

Description of the role

  • Design, create and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts to specification, in line with best practices and standards, for customer code deployment
  • Activities relating to the design, implementation and maintenance of database schemas in project environments
  • Create and work to technical specifications
  • To work closely and collaborate with development, database, and project teams.
  • Participate in peer code review, knowledge sharing activities, and contribute to best practices
  • Demonstrate an ability to be proactive and productive with minimal supervision

Requirements of the role

Essential Skills

3+ years experience of the following:

  • Oracle 11g onwards
  • SQL
  • Oracle PL/SQL
  • Scripting (SQL, Linux, Windows)
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of database schemas and associated objects
  • Tuning SQL and database structures
  • Software development lifecycle
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision and meeting deadlines
  • Strong time management, organization, analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (both oral & written) and the ability to work closely with various technical teams of all skill levels
