Business Process Automation Engine

CALMS CATALYST is White Clarke Group`s Business Process Automation Engine (BPAE) often simply referred to as CATALYST or simply BPAE. Whilst it can manage just about any business process (e.g. CRM, Collections etc.) its most popular deployment in the market is to manage the credit decision and underwriting processes.

It is being used by a range of organizations (including several automotive captive finance organizations) around the world to manage these processes and has proved very successful in driving efficiency and dealer satisfaction.

CALMS BPAE is designed to empower the end business user to create and manage their business processes without the need for an IT specialist. This for example would allow a competent credit analyst to create and modify credit policies, scorecards, credit processes etc. without having to resort to IT code changes or specialist IT support. This is achieved by providing the business user with a `designer` desktop facility which provides an intuitive graphical `drag & drop` user interface to allow them to easily manage the total credit and underwriting process.

Managing business processes is not just about controlling the flow through the process, it.s also crucial to be able to easily define in plain business language the business rules to be executed at each step in the process.

One of the most powerful features of CALMS BPAE is the ease with which we can combine business and policy rules with process flows thereby allowing not only the process flow to be easily managed but also allowing each step in the process to exhibit .business intelligence. through the execution of the business rules linked to that step in the process and the ability to .inherit. knowledge from the execution of earlier process steps.

Designed for the knowledgeable end business user, CALMS BPAE is agile technology in action. Using plain business language constructs and an easy-to-use graphical interface, even complex policies and processes can be modelled without the need for the specialized expertise of an IT professional. This approach provides a huge amount of flexibility and gives control to the business itself. It also means the same set of core components can be reused and re-combined in a variety of ways to deliver unique solutions based on a common proven foundation, thereby maximizing the investment leverage opportunity for the business. This, for instance, would allow a multi-country deployment to benefit from the process and rules defined in an earlier country implementation.

Rules Engine

This component allows the easy creation of business rules by using an easy to understand business language format to define them. Rules can be ‘packaged ‘ up into rule sets and stored in a library like facility thereby allowing the business to build up a valuable knowledge base which can be reused many times over. The rule definition although simple to use is extremely powerful and employs the full range of logical process rules even complex rules, by business users without technical expertise, putting control where it belongs.

It allows organizations to evaluate policies and strategies across multiple rules and processes, optimising profit capabilities.

Typical solutions include automation of risk management, product pricing, billing, collections and automation of client-specific products or cross market products.

 

Workflow

Our workflow solution has been developed within the Workflow Management Coalition’s open design guidelines and ensures wide compatibility with existing legacy systems.

It means that the processes underpinning any type of financial application or transaction can be managed, configured and sequenced in real-time. Graphical presentation means that experienced business users can make changes to processes very quickly.

Designed to be highly scalable, it can grow in line with business requirements and complexities — and allows multiple deployment across different environments and business areas.

 

Integration Hub

Many clients want integration with both existing legacy systems and external data providers, even credit reference agencies, brokers and lenders. That’s why we developed the Enterprise Service Hub, an industry generic way of outputting and receiving electronic information between different systems and technologies.
